Default OMG Wolf pack in GWX!!!!

Now this is something

I was out on a boring patrol. Had only encounterd a small merchant for many days.
Then i got a message saying convoy reporting.

It was quite close to where i was so i thought, what a hell, i give it a go.

As i closed in and checked the map i saw this:

I thougth WTF is that??

3 subs that is chasing a convoy?

I was so curious about this so i went to freemode and rushed to the scene just in time to se a large convoy. And as i got behind the convoy i could se 2 destroyers that was nearly sunk. They was real low in water. Then i spotted thos 3 submarines. They where all destroyed and was about to sink.
A large battle have been fought and many fellow kamerade have lost thier lives.

They must have been engaged in surface whit thos destroyers.
The outcome is 3 subs for 2 destroyers.

Here can u se 2 of the subs that are going down:

And here is the damage one of the sustained. Glad iam not on that sub

The best part is.
I saved the game here at this point.

Iam gona come right into an unguarded convoy whit loads of ship to choose from.
The defence they have now is only 2 flowers that is guarding each flank.
And thos 2 crippled destroyers that i think will sunk soon anyway.

I wonder if there is any more subs around that is submerged that i cant se.

But all i can say is. Iam amazed

Codmander, I just ran that one and it was good. Not a field day but we sank 3 T3s and 3 Large Cargo ships. Most all took at least 3 torpedos to sink them. Only 1 went under with one shot. Even 90 degree shots needed 3 hits.

odd, large tankers seem to have weak structures, and take 12-15 minutes to sink from 1 hit mid-ships.

Large cargo, 1 midships = maybe sunk, 2 midships = faster sinking

But special targeting seems to be only an illusion.

Amazing. That could explain somehting for me though. Once when I was encountering a convoy in the Atlantic I could see that one of the escorts was burning I didn't really knew why....I guess I know now....

Regarding GWX you are incorrect.

Depending on the timeframe in the war... GWX players have reported as many as 14 convoy escorts.

Things are very different now.

Kpt. L, I believe he was referring to the Single Mission in GWX- PQ17- where they escorts are off chasing the Tirpitz. The convoy is alone to fend for itself. I played it today and saw another Uboat. Also had enemy ships sinking without me firing a single shot. Sounds like a wolfpack to me. At least a pack of something sinking enemy ships. Unless they were shooting each other in case Bernard was around. LOL

hehe, musta struck lucky with my last convoy in jan. 1940.....not a single escort.
Realistic for the month of the year in some cases
