accurate electric engine sound?

The noise from the electric engines is much quieter in GW, both inside and out, than the vanilla version. It this a more accurate representation of actual electric engines sounds?

Wish I had an answer for you. All I can say is that I would think electric engines would be very quiet. I've heard big electic motors run before (not as big as a U-boat's, I'm sure) and all they do is hum. Noticably, yes, but hardly loud.

I think its more accurate, they should be quiet when your inside all i hear is a low hum. If your playing with external view on, switch to external view when submerge and your notice they still are pretty loud - just not internally.

IMHO the electric engines are fine.... I just played GW 1.1 for the first time today, and on my first test dive in my VIIC I thought those were the Bilge pumps swishing away.

But it sees to me that the diesel engine sounds are a bit low.... I can hear that bloody "tick, tick, tick" of the clock by me over the engines.... do I have a setting wrong or something?

I have a mate that served on the Royal Navy Oberon class and he reckons the sound levels are just about right.

As for the "tick, tick, tick" sound...download the 'vodkas quiet' mod from UBRS

The sounds in GW are right. You can't hear the main motors unless you are actually in the motor room, and even then you barely hear them.

Thank you.

Coming from a real diesel submariner makes me happy enough!
