Default Internal Free Camera??

Running Patched Vanilla...

I can use the external camera just fine, but when I hit 'Shift & F2', it just jumps me to another spot in the control room.. Is that a GW mod??

Thanks!!

I don't think so. Mine always puts me in the control room. I can move around and hit F2 and I'll be back in the control room again.

Yes, Shift + F2 starts you at the back of the control room. From there you use the mouse and arrow keys to move around inside. Just be careful, if you go through the wrong bulkheads you can get stuck.

I must not understand what shift/F2 does then. I don't go through any bulkheads. (Maybe I don't know how?) All it does is move me in the control room. What other compartments can you go to?? Engine room, torpedo room, etc?? I've been up in the conning tower, to the bridge, in my bunk and to the hydrophone.. But don't know how to go through hatches or which ones I can go through..

Thanks!!

Shift-F2 starts you in the back of the control room, from there you can navigate using the arrow keys and mouse much like you can navigate with the external camera. There are no new compartments, but if you "fly" through the door to the radio room, you go to the radio room, and if you "fly" through the hatch to the conning tower, you go to the conning tower.

The reason people say be careful, is because flying beyond these points, or out through a random wall can cause you to become "stuck" or worse yet, it can cause the game to crash.

Basically, the Shift-F2 free-cam is a novelty that wears off quickly IMO, but it's worth at least once in each boat.

I think SH4 is going to have the entire submarine to walk through. This function should be great for that game.

Not sure where you goth this from. If you could point me in the direction of that information I would be grateful.

Otherwise I can see in about 6 months...

I do not remember where I had read this tidbit of information.

The only reference I've seen in writing so far has been fans begging for it, or demanding it. Nothing from UBI, though.
