Default Crew Fatigue Question

I dislike having to deal with crew fatigue problems when I'm playing SH3. The SH3 Commander takes care of this very nicely when I play the stock game I've installed. I'm playing two copies of SH3 on my computer at the moment, the GW 1.1a and the NYGM 2.2, I have all kinds of troubles with the NYGM 2.2 because the crew fatigue always needs taking care of. Is there anyway to take care of this? SH3 Commander doesn't seem to handle more then one copy of SH3 at a time.

If you have multiple SH3 installations and one of them is NYGM, then I would recommend installing SH3Cmdr twice - one copy for the non-NYGM installation(s) and one copy solely for the NYGM installation.

Then follow the SH3Cmdr instructions to "point" each copy of SH3Cmdr to the respective installations.

The reason I say multiple SH3Cmdr installations if one installation of SH3 is NYGM is simply because NYGM uses different SH3Cmdr cfg files that will conflict with non-NYGM installations, thus using one copy of SH3Cmdr for both would be a pain.

Thanks for the reply, JScones. I can't seem to find any info on on to point the SH3 Commander to my installation of the NYGM 2.2. Could you help me out please?

By the first convoy I encounter, I'm moving crewmen around.

This should help, especially the last paragraph:

Rename your Silent Hunter III folder to Silent Hunter III-GW. Rename the desktop icon the same also.

Now run your SH3 install disc again-it will install the entire game all over again. Just add a fresh desktop icon and your ready to go.
Right now I've got 3 installs
Silent Hunter III-GW
Silent Hunter III-NYGM
Silent Hunter III

If you're using SH3 Commander
you need to change the path name to reflect the new folder name.
You can have multiple Commanders also but always rollback before switching from one version to the other.

FIRST listed feature in the readme. Pre-requisite knowledge is that players can create desktop shortcuts - that is a fundamental part of the OS, not SH3Cmdr.

There's also many threads here discussing how to do it. Unfortunately I am a bit pre-occupied with something else right now, otherwise I'd put some links here for you.

I'm sure someone else can help more if needed.

I've disabled fatigue entirely.

I found I was having to move people around every 8hrs max, and as little as 4hrs in heavy weather. Just got ridiculous. Was spending all my time moving my crew around as opposed to actually getting anywhere.

In fact, with a 'green crew' and heavy weather, I was having to dive as I couldn't maintain any sort of efficiency with 2 watch crews....submerged for 12-18hrs to let them rest.

VERY annoying. Playing without fatigue isn't very realistic (and I play with everything else re realism maxed), but the system as it stands is simply such a detraction from the game that I got totally sick of it.
