Default IX-D2 Ultimate model experience

http://www.westbourne-model.co.uk/U117%20IX%20D2.htm

Anyone got a spare £877.99 for this absolutely gorgeous radio-controlled U-177?

(Pardon me if I drool all over my keyboard...)

WOW!
That thing is 6 1/2 feet long.
How much is that in U.S. dollars?

If I remember my conversion tables and the batteries in my calculator are fully charged, £877.99 United Kingdom Pounds would be $1,649.37 in American Dollars.

I think the exchange rate is something 2.4 or something. Man. That's hardcore stuff. Too bad you can't fire torpedoes.

My wife would kill me if she saw that in our pool.

Should have seen the look on the wife's face when I was testing the triple gas engine layout in my Dumas PT-109 model, as it was January, and everything was frozen, including her personality.

I wish I had one. It would be great to get an aircraft model freak and have him dive bomb you! That would be the height of geekdom.

It would make for one hell of a video. Install cameras on both models for crew eye's view. Imagine what the view would be like from the cockpit of the bomber (I can see a B-24 here) or the view from behind the AA guns.

I wonder if you could create some scaled down depth charges to add to the effect....

Real hardcore guys would use real model depth charges. Like in this vid of model battleships that actually fire I saw somewhere. They actually sink them.
