This may have been asked before, but I was unable to find it.
I generated my intelligence report as soon as I was out of the harbour. Now, later, if I use the clear map button, can I generate another report, so 24 or 48 hours later? Rob |

You can save as often as you want....just be sure to make a game save and exit first

I only generate one time, right after I leave port. That way I have my intelligence and secret orders in the safe. Remember, this stuff would all have to be sent by morse code, and that could take a couple of hours, besides blocking all other incoming traffic and driving your radioman insane.

And to answer your question, you can generate as many updates as you want. Every one will overwrite the previous one and will be as valid as any other / just the choice of targets will be randomized every time. So if you run the generator often enough, you will see a pattern of some targets appearing over and over again, and you could use this to find out where they really are. This will work especially well with capital ships lying in port.

Thanks GlobalExplorer. I didn't know the information was valid for longer then 24 hrs.
With respect to SH3Gen, I have the intelligence and reliability at 100 %. In my report, it said there were 2 "numbered" convoys at Iceland. So, actually I could except them to be there. BTW, I just downloaded the latest version of SH3 Gen and the recommended companion program. Thanks Rob |

Nice, GlobalExplorer.
That Tracking Room edition works wonders on a dual monitor system: accurate maps without any alt-tabbing. I also like TatukGIS as a utility and am starting to understand the possibilities the program's options offer. |

@ComradeP:
Glad to hear you are using it on that level. Unfortunately I don't play SHIII myself at the moment, but I was sure using the map extraction on a second monitor should be really really nice - so I had to program it only to see the maps - I am glad that some people actually are fans enough to play with it! Yes, the TatukGIS Viewer is a very nice piece of freeware, and it is very beneficial to your computer knowledge if you learn how to use it.

However, you can set reliability to anywhere depending on your playing philosopy - it doesn't have such a wide range of consequences apart from the targets being somewhat more reliable .. Quote:
