Default Realistic waves mod

I tried to make a mod with the realistic wave settings (from 0.6 to 0.5 SeaSpeed)

The changes:

Summary: I opened the scene_dat.txt file (SHIII/data/cfg) in SH3 mini tweaker. This file should tweak the main Scene.dat file in the data folder. Am i correct?

I changed the value in general environment: SeaSpeed 0.6 to 0.5
In folder Wave state 1, i also set the seaspeed value to 0.5
I also did this with the other wavestate folders (2,3 and 4).

Is this correct?

The mod: http://files.filefront.com/SHIII_GW_.../fileinfo.html

Please comment if im completly "Bernard" in this attempt..

Seth,

I'm really interested in trying this. Just one question: Does the "GW" in the file title mean that the file is compatable with GW? In other words, does the scene.dat file that you've modified have the other changes made for GW?

Thanks,

J

I think so I tried reducing the numbers by one point (0.06 to 0.05, 1.1 to 1.0,etc etc) and the result was certainly a more realistic sea state, I then took them back a further point(to 0.04, 0.9 etc) which slowed the sea surge even more, I felt this was much better. I tried moving the altered files into a format for the mod enabler but this was not successful so far, will need to think about it again. Dont forget to add the 3D waves mod, this makes it even better.

I moved all numbers down to 0.5, even those with the value 1.0, 1.1 and so on. It looks really good in my game. no probs!

That would be possible, i think mate. the question is, however, does the increase in numbers increase the sea foam...? Or is it possible to make sea foam just like the bow spray, in a "light version".... Hmmmmm.....i got to find out....

Seth, which scene.dat is this mod for? 8km/16km Light or Dark?

Or doesn't it matter?

I dont think it matters, but ill guess the GW mod people could answer that better. I know that it works on my computer, and i have the GW 1.1a with the 16 km light mod (i think)...

I have so far altered the scene.dat file in my Vanilla, GW and RUB versions all without problem the mini tweaker seems to manage any version of the game, I dont know what the downloaded tweak files actually do as the tweaker seems to extract and work on the actual game file from the selected game. Perhaps the tweak files simply provide the address to the selected file?
