(*^% protection code error

re-installed the game a few weeks back and play it from time to time and got an error this afternoon that the CD key does not match the disk in the drive...huh? It worked yesterday?

uninstalled/re-installed and get the same thing.

Any suggestions?

Uninstall one more time just to make sure. Then.....

Go into C: Drive/Program Files/Ubisoft and delete the leftover Silent Hunter 3 files from the uninstall.

Also do the same in My Documents, delete the SHIII file, or save it outside My Docs and make a change in it's name so the exe doesn't somehow see it. If you have a career in it you want to save you can copy/paste it back in.

Use regcleaner to get rid of any SHIII stuff in the registry.
