Default SH3 Commander

anyone use this? seems like it has some cool features such as selecting your patrol grid and the radio/map mod that gives historical radio reports and showing a map of Europe. Anyone have any problems with it? Does it cause any slowdown to the game? Thanks guys

SH3 Commander & SH3 Gen are external programmes and will not cause any slowdowns.

Both are used by many players and most will tell you not to leave base without them.

I dislike having to save, exit the game, run SH3 Gen, and re-enter the game, but apart from that SH3 Gen is wonderful.

As for SH3 Commander, I downright love it. There's simply no reason at all not to use it.

If the developers of Silent Hunter 4 implement the features of SH3 Commander and SH3 Gen, I'm in Heaven.

Does SH3 Commander alter your realism settings any? Also I saw that there is a malfuction mod included. Are these mods loaded automaticly? Can u disable the malfuction mod?

Also does the news reports and map during the loading screen add alot of character to the game. Kinda excited to try it out

Realism settings age not altered by SH3 CMDR. The sabotage and malfunction are loaded automatically and if you don't like them, they can be bypassed. But why would one want to?

i just started playing. The idea of my sub malfunctioning scare me. lol. how do u bypass it? from what i have read the sabotage is off automaticly anyway.

also I was looking at the mod the it loads with the historical sub dates. does that mean that some subs are not available at all? I see the last 3-4 subs are not even on the list. thanks again guys.

Sabotage is not on by default, you have to spefically enable that.

Random malfunctions are on though. To disable them go into the SH3 Commander\Cfg folder and move out all the Randomized Events files. Either delete them or move them into a backup folder.

The worst malfunctions I've had were a blurry periscope or the dreaded "Flank speed = 0" engine malfunction. Ugh, hate that one! heh

Works fine just going back to the main menu, as it just alters the saved game any changes are reloaded when you reload your career

thanks for the responses guys. much appreciated.

quick question. i read somewhere that there is a progress map that shows the hostorical state of the war with SH Commander. Is this true? I can't find it. Also if I want to change an option such as the laugauge ranks are in or if I want the hull% shown do I have to do a rollback first? Thanks Great program by the way!

Yes. Look closely at the map on patrol load screen...

No. Your preferred settings (apart from TC ones) are only enacted when you press the "Launch SH3!" button.
