Hello all
I've a problem with a voice sound. When I run the game with a time compression > 1, I don't hear the officer on the desk when he spot a ship. The game return to time X1, but the message is inaudible. There is the subtitle but that's all. I've this problem after a new installation of windows and SH3. I've tried without mods (Only SH3 V1.4) and it's the same thing. Before this new installation, it was ok. I don't understand why this problem. For me it's very strange :hmm: Can you help me ? Anyone has encounter the same problem ? The sound corresponding to this message in the speech folder is : "WaO_K_Ship_spotted.ogg". Isn't it ? In this case it is present in the folder of my installation. |

same here. I never bothered to investigate that though, because it was always like that as far I can recall.

Yeh, there's nothing like going along at TC >1, TC drops back to 1x & find your boat is sinking, then the WO says "Aircraft",

The only time I had this happen was a long time ago, when I lost all speech sound because I had messed with the time compression settings using SH3 Commander's options and had changed the "sound effects" setting to "1" - since this number is actually supposed to be set to the level of TC at which the sound effects stop playing, when I set it to "1" it cut out all the sounds/speech. This needs to be set at 2 or higher or you won't hear the speech, IIRC. If that's the only speech you're missing though, it's gonna be something else - maybe that speech file got corrupted. Or, maybe it's just randomly silent - now that I think about it, I sometimes hear my sound guy call out the contacts and sometimes get just the subtitles. Maybe the sound files aren't copied into all of the 9 subfolders (or however many there are), so in some cases it's using a folder where the sound file is there and sometimes not?
