Default MBT Vents and Bow planes

Do either of these switches actually serve a useful in game purpose ?

or are they just there to confuse me into thinking I've missed an important point ?

MBT vents are just for diving. Ordering PD does just the same.
Folding planes could be usefull when surfacing under ice. Try that. But it is quite possible that it is there just for the feeling.

Also check the SNR of the passive sonar when you rig in the bow planes you will notice that the flow noise will be cut down slightly,
