INVINCABLE!... Patrol Boats?

I like to play missions with the FFG and ive recently made a map. There is a enemy cargo ship in the map and i fire my sm-2's, and they disapear right on it! and my harpoon does the same. and my cannons dont seem to damage it at all. The torpedo was a "dud" somehow also... and then i was playing the DMB mission, something like that, but ur protecting a ship as it intercepts an ICBM(havn't got to that part, if it somehow has a good storyline, dont spoil it

(i mainly say cause i havn't seen any slbm's or icbms yet) And the sm-2's go right thru an enemy missle boat, though my harpoon missed and torpedo killed it, y does the sm-2 always fail, and how was that cargo ship invunerable? any help?
