Default A Goodbye song for our Bump Thread

Well, as you maybe know the Bump Thread has been Locked. But We Will Never Forget!

I wrote a Goodbye song for our thread.

To the Tune of "The National anthem of the Soviet Union, 1944 Version".

To understand this, you might want to Read the First Page of the Original Bump Thread.

http://www.subsim.com/phpBB_archive1...er=asc&start=0

And Here Comes the Song...

United forever in friendship and Spam,
Our mighty Bump Thread will ever endure.
The great Bump Thread will live through the ages.
The dream of the people their fortress secure.

CHORUS:
Long live our Bump Thread, built by the Spammers mighty hand.
Long live our Spammers, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.

Through days dark and stormy where Great JJ led us
Our eyes saw the bright sun of freedom above
and Oberon our Leader with faith in the People,
Inspired us to build up the Thread that we love.

CHORUS:
Long live our Bump Thread, built by the Spammers mighty hand.
Long live our Spammers, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.

We fought for the future, destroyed the Moderator invader,
and brought to our Forum the Laurels of Fame.
But now we are Defeated!
But our glory will live in the memory of nations
and all generations will honour our name!

CHORUS:
Long live our Bump Thread, built by the Spammers mighty hand.
Long live our Spammers, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.

:rotfl::rotfl:

This is no Re-Opening of a Locked Thread, nor a New Bump Thread. Just this song.

Wow I can't believe that. Of all the threads to get locked. It wasn't doing any harm and was amusing in a surreal way.

Gizzmoe I think you have made a wrong decision here. I think we should ask to have it unlocked. I'm sure it was setting an internet record for something.

Not really, there´s a bump thread with 140804 posts:
http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=893

It was started in 2003 and is still active.

I surely do not miss it and also did not find it amusing, but it also did not harm me or did anything bad, and did not resist to me when ignoring it. Can't see any justification to lock it.Ah, and Linton, at least this single Hun that is sitting in my flat does have a very black sense of humour!

"Post count bumping" or "post whoring". Some people would lose half of their post count if that thread would be deleted... Also it didn´t serve any kind of purpose. It wasn´t amusing, informative or anything. Just the same old "Bump. LOL!" posts every day, and that for two years.

Na und? None of that must be your business. No harm was done. No rule violated. No board policy ignored. No person offended. No flaming initiated. Nothing happened. You simply did not like it.

It was Gizzmoe's Decision to do this. And since he has the Mighty Moderator Powers...

He's the Politburo of the Forum. Nothing we can do about it...

Soon this will be Forgot. And in a Few Years, it will come back. Maybe. Maybe Not. Maybe someone Imagines something new the Same annoying and Stupid, and the thing will start again.

History Always Repeats itself.

The only thing that ever really Frightened me was the Bump Peril.

Maybe the Best Decision would be to start a SPAM Forum wich gets Cleared (All Posts Deleted) all 2 Months, and has no Post count. That would avoid Problems, and would do no Harm.
