Torpedo impact and fast speed set by default?

Der Teddy Bar's thread about 3M minimum torpedo depth got me thinking about the impact pistol setting and the speed setting. I didn't want to hijack his thread so I'll ask here. In the dials.cfg where you change the depth, is it possible to make the impact pistol the default pistol and the speed set to fast? I rarely use magnetic pistols except for saving my life if a destroyer is bearing down on me. If using a T1, I always use the fast setting. Rarely do I ever use a slower setting unless the target is a long way away. I just thought it would help alleviate the monotony of always having to set my setting in the TDC everytime I start the game.
