Default Linking Data

I don't understand Links, yes I have read the manual. I am playing a sub, I know the conditions I have to meet, Links on, Comm Depth, Mast up or Wire deployed- now how do I link with the SAG coming in as support for my efforts to sink the Chinese Cruiser (that is what it is called in the scenario, it is actually a DDG)?

Thank You,

Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret)

In order to participate in the link, you must raise the Antenna. The floating wire will only passivly read the link, but not transmit.

Once you have the contact, and have the antenna up, right-click the contact, and select "Promote to Link" - this should result in allied ships attacking the target.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you JgzMan, I will try it later this evening and get back to you. I sure appreciate you assistance. I am still looking in the manual as I hate to know it is there and not find it.

Thank you again,

You may have to be a little bit shallower than the rated antenna depth, which may again be shallower than the periscope depth, for the link to work.

Once you are "linked" any allied ships will show up on the maps, unless "show link" in game options is turned off. They will also automatically forward any contacts you have.

(Check a linked ship's "age" attribute to find if the link is online)

You can also forward contacts to the ships on the link, however, the menu option won't appear unless your antenna (/radio mast) is above water.

OK I got it and it works. I played around with it and you have to have the mast up to get the menu.

Appreciate the help,
