How should I troubleshoot this? recently I have not had the pleasure of listening to that chipper band and uplifting music they play to get me in the right mood for victory as I sail off into the unkown.. this happened after I switched the fanfare in the data\sound directory the second time. I switched it once and the new march played fine, then switched back to the original march and now they dont play no matter what port I am at. the band is moving and cymbals are being swung but no music is heard---all croud cheers play though..
Anyone else have this prob and solve it...any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?....it would be nice to have that band playing again...thx |

first of all check the correct spelling: Fanfara_01.wav. Then chek, if your new file is a mono-wav file. It must have the following parameter/values (see screenshot): ![]() If not, convert it to mono-wav (for example with CDex dl: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdexos/ Or downlod my MilitaryMarch-Mod, where you can find 6 marches for the band. See the thread below: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=96786 Hope it helps. greetigs rowi58 |

Hey Thanks Rowi58!! I'll check on that stuff. and thanks to the rest of you for your jokes...now that I know this I can start making my own march files for them to play. and come on give the band a break, I am sure they don't want to play that stuff, but if they whipped out some ragtime they might be arrested.

![]() Actually, it would be nice to have them play different tunes -- I think the stock game had 'Deutschland ueber Alles'? My band now plays 'Muss i' denn' (which I think was installed by the RUb mod), which I like better, but since it was the Kriegsmarine's standard 'farewell' tune, it seems a little out of place when I'm returning to port. Is there a way in the game to get the band to play different music for entering and leaving? (I suppose something simple like 'Fanfara_02' for the return to port would be too much to hope for!) In the film of Das Boot, the band plays a march when the boat comes home (an interesting departure from the novel, where the narrator simply comments, 'Gott sei Dank: keine Blechmusik!'), but I don't recognize the tune. Does anyone know its title, and/or whether it was the Kriegsmarine's standard 'welcome home' number? |
