Computer question

Hello all,

Have a situation to ask advice about. Last week I was installing a program (antivirus) long story short had problems getting rid of former antivirus, so I decided to do a system restore. However halfway through the computer locked up. Have tried reloading SP2 no luck. I may need to wipe and start from stratch. Functions affected are system restore, windows search , Media player, No windows security functions & Word works somewhat.Cannot get to online windows update site. Everthing else works to my knowledge.

My question is if I need to wipe and reload. If I save my SH3 documents file to CD along with the mods I have installed. Once I reload would I be able to keep where I am? I'm part of a league so I'm hoping not to have to start over with a new crew and all. I plan to be in port if I try this, not in mid patrol.

Any advice on either situation is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Hmm... sounds like a crappy situation. You can try to run registry mechanic than use windows check disk program and see what happens next.

If that fails you can always use windows recovery console to solve the problem.

I believe the answer is yes but I do not speak from experience. One thing that must be done is have SHIII re-installed with the same patch version as the saved career. As for the add-ons I'm sure you will want to reinstall all those as well.
