I play NYGM 2.0 100% realisme and have a few questions:
When I get the message "SO:nearest sound contact: merchant moving slow constant distance!bearing 000! long range", I look thrue mij binocular and see the ship moving, only smoke on the horizon. 1 Why do I only see the smoke ,crewmembers in the tower next to me see nothing, no messages. 2 How far is long range,I see nothing on the map (playing with no map updates unchecked),what is the distance for a shipmark on the map? greethings Henny |

It was my impression that on a clear day you should be able to see a ship a lot further than the soundman can hear it.
Assuming that I'm wrong, you can see the smoke before your crew does because the game shows it but the AI visual sensor doesn't allow them to see it until a certain distance. It doesn't show up on the map because they won't put it there until they see it, and there's no way for you to make them see it until they do it for themselves. Frustrating, isn't it? Also, it's not NYGM's fault, it's a game bug that should be fixed (and hopefully will with SHIV). |
