the books by this guy are purely awsome. They rival Tom Clancey and possibly are better than him.

If you havent read them, you should pick some up.

I've only read one so far, it was Piranha: Firing Point and it was really good, looking to pick some more up at some point.
Also read Typhoon by Robin White, well worth a read

Wow....thanks for the heads up. If they even get close to Clancy, I'll be happy...if they surpass him, I'll be orgasmic.

edit: I read a few preview pages from Amazon and was surprised that he writes very well, much like Tom. Though puts an adventurous spin and sets the scene well, that's the impression I got from the first few pages. If it's one criticism I have of Clancy is that his writing is very cold, flat and technical. I like it when I read a book and let's say in the book it's raining or snowing, and you actually feel slightly colder...Clancy could never produce that effect....for me anyway. Though I already sort of got that feeling reading these few pages of DiMercurio. Only criticism? It's all about subs and only subs...

There's been several topics on this guy on these forums, while his first couple novels were enjoyable I'd say the rest are kinda well not so good.

I don't really want to elaborate too much as it would spoil the plot in the series... or the fact that plot is basically the same in each book....

reluctantly take command of newest super sub/with newest super weapon > destroy baddies > lose super sub > start all over

Never read any by Michael DiMercurio. I want to, but never got around to it. However, I recognize your signature VERY well! That is one of my favorite submarine novels - Tpyhoon by Mark Joseph. "Kiss the sky goodbye" was Admiral Zenko's slogan if I remember right.

He's not a popular witer here because he takes so many creative liberties with reality. Fortunately I l ike sci-fi as well, so I enjoy his books. He's a bit too repetitive, but it's a good read. Joe Buff is a good read also, but it's more sci-fi than fact. His books take place in the near future and stretches fact, but it's still entertaining.
