I have just seen a program about FIFA and how rotten everything is. Andrew Jennings who's a english journalist had made this program and it made me think.

Because money (an obscene amount of money) makes the world go round.
FIFA is all about money and couldn't care less about the sport known as football. Everybody wins, FIFA, sponsors, clubs, tv channels except the poor joe smuck that still goes to the stadium. Thinking that what he sees is a real genuine sport when in reality its big business with all that this entails. Last edited by goldorak; 06-26-06 at 07:22 PM. |

... is nothing new. That club stinks to heaven, and costs all who do business with FIFA a whole heap of money. Bascially it is an organization to help officials to bolster the later years of their lifes by ridiculous ammounts of money.

I've been saying it for years. Blatter should be in jail by now...and the last World Cups. Come on, only the very stupid would not realise they were at least favoring certain countries...sometimes blatantly. Look at South Korea...what a farce! Three disallowed goals to Spain (all valid) and a non-existent penalty to the Koreans, so they passed and Spain went home. Just a big coinidence the games were held in Korea and the second in charge of FIFA is a Korean?
![]() 1998 final...was held in France, final Brazil-France. Why did Ronaldo get to the stadium the last second with a look of total despair? Why did they say he would not be playing because he was "injured", then played? Because FIFA asked them to lose (it was held in France afterall) and the Brazilian football federation were only to happy to oblige. Let's face it, Brazil is run by corrupt politicians and corruption is big over there...they even have police death squads who go around killing child street gang members. So yes, they were told to let France win and Ronaldo, who is a very honest and humble person, was understandably upset. Corruption is killing the game... ![]() |

Corrupt economy, manipulating elections and cheating politics of FIFA, and telling refs to be hard or soft is one is one thing. Telling the players to lose intentionally is something different. And I doubt that they would comply. Especially not Brazilian players. I would like to see some evidence for such claims. Are you familiar with the socalled "shame of Cordoba?" (1978)? It casts it's shadow in Germany until today.

I was discussing this issue with a friend and he's right when he said
Okey Markus lets say that Sweden, Denmark and 8 of the biggest fotball nation resign from FIFA and then others follow up. How long do you think it will take before this new organisation will be as rotten as FIFA is now? Markus |
