Default GW effect on deck gun

Absolutely love GW 1.1a but I notice that: either the effectiveness of the deck gun ammo has been decreased; or the strength of the ship's hull has been increased, or both. either way, it took me around 100 shells to sink a C2! Mind you they were all HE. The problem is...I tried to do the training missions again but how am I supposed to sink like 3 merchants with 200 rounds when it takes about 100 to knock one out??

Shoot below the waterline mate!

We are currently re-designing the entire ship damage model and balancing weapon effects for our next major release.

Speaking for myself... I don't like to use the training missions anyway as it just gives you gratuitous renown.

For new players though we realize that having the training missions functional is useful. This is in the forefront of our minds as we work.

If you have enabled the GW mod with JGSME you can simply disable the GW mod... play the training missions as usual... and then enable the GW mod prior to going on campaign. This process will yield the original stock SH3 training mission results.

i was having the same problems but kept trying. i find that since the ships sink by flooding, i have been working on flooding 2 compartments - weak spot of ship in middle and the bow - all just below waterline. when the ship starts to list leave it alone for a while and observe it. i sank all merchants and c2 and had 39 he shells left and couldn't finish off the small tanker...sped away listing...too many wasted shots above waterline.

Discused in SH2 and in SH3 before, the amount of shells needed to sink a ship.

The hull of merchants was not an armored tank, they was thiny, and the shells, i dont remember by recall but had 7 or 8 kg of explosives de 88 mm and about 10 or 12 the 105mm with a total weight of 15/17 kg.

Enough explosives to open a hole in the thiny hull of old and cheap merchants.

The interior of compartements was not a clear surface, the merchant crew can not to put an adhesive sticker on each hole.

I think so, few holes become uncontrolable for the merchant crew, a pair on each compartement will become out of repair or flood control capabilities.

A ship with 10 compartements and 2 on each 20 holes on the waterline, must to sink with no chance of survive, even with few holes.

Just an opinion....
