Yep, out of about 30 careers, I had one that made it until the end of the war. Probably around 32 patrols, but I forget now. Congrats on your survival, good luck making to the end. The fun is just getting started

I'll never get that far. For me 100% realism includes SH3 Commanders retirement option. No real kaleun served at sea for the entire war.

I tried 100% realism and lasted 11 patrols VIIC got sunk on the surface by what i think was a wellington bomber direct hit on the conning tower took out all my deck crew all departments showed yellow flooding & 2 were a serious red. Then within moments i got welcomed by that dead screen!

afaik, they didn't use a mouse or keyboard either...guess that rules out 100% realism all together :P

for me 100% realism is way too hard i dont even like having dud fish lol that just frustrates me and as for manual targeting for fish pfft i would end up sinking my self (somehow)

I tried 100% realism and I lasted until I saw my first enemy ship. I had no idea of the range, speed or AOB. I just sat there thinking "Hmmm" then quit my game. What I am going to do in my next career is keep weapon officer assistance. That way I can get a range from him and plot the ship on the map, then use the 3 minute rule to get the speed. I'm looking forward to it. I loved leaving Lorient using the Harbour Traffic mod and not seeing any ships on my map, it meant I had to stay on the bridge and keep my eye out for any collisions. Mind you it doesn't help that the watch crew get in the way, I suppose I'll have to send most of them below decks until we clear the traffic. Is there a "transparent" watch crew mod? ![]() |

first of all 100% realism is the best you get that good feeling when u sink a ship in a convoy using manual targeting its also exciting when u dont know where the dd's are and u have to man the hydro phone its exciting i tell ya
especially when im playing on a 42 inch plasma hunkered down in my basement with 7.1 surround sound and a crossfire x1900xtx setup fyi. amazing graphics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've always thought it would be impossible to use the Stadimeter in rough seas. How can you get an exact range when the target is bobbing all over the place and sometimes obscured by a big wave?
