Foul-mouthed parrot

I found this little news item funny.

Foul-mouthed parrot
An Orthodox Jew in Israel has been threatened with divorce after blowing several thousand pounds on a parrot that swore like a trooper.
It was not until he took the parrot to his Tel Aviv home he realised its vocabulary included "son of a bitch" and other expletives. After a rabbi advised the bird should either be killed or have its tongue removed, the owner's wife drew the line at any more expenditure and gave the parrot to a zoo.

Not good! That is my nightmare. Carefull of what you say around birds. I own a parrot and he will do something if he knows he can annoy you or get a reaction out of you. He picked of this shrill squak from the blue jays outside and figured out that I don't like it real fast and has only recently been trained out of it - with cold sink water that is - trust me, the positive ways to train a bird out of this type of behavior do not work when it is more fun to have a reaction out of me (Its very loud!).

I hardly ever swear so he will probably never pick up any negative language, but I could tell that he would if he knew it would cause a reaction in me of some sort. I would have to give him away if he started swearing.

I remember years ago a Minor Bird swore like anything and if you pointed your finger to near the cage it would lash out at you.
