Halifax FFH Sonar (SQS-505)

Its hull mounted, does it look like the hull mounted sonar on the Perry? Anyone got a pic?

Need to know for the 3D model I'm building for DW.

Planing on finishing it? If not send it this way and I'll incorprate any parts from it I like better in to my model.

My model is very close to being done. The only major part to do is the mast (and radars) although I'm taking the cheap way and making it a transparent box with the beams painted on.

I think I did that too.

It was one of my first models so it isn't that great.

Wasn't it in SCX? Or was that an default boat with a green helo deck? Or was that an Iroquois?

If you think your model is lousy and would hurt more than help you can hang on to it until you see my model completed and can compaire.

I think that it's a VDS, not a hull mounted set.
I did a google image search for it and all I found was this:

The pic is from Indaltech, which apparently designed the handling gear for it.

Saw that too, thats the CANTASS towed array pod not the SQS-505. Its Hull mounted, HMCS Annapolis had the same set and it has no TA listed in Janes.

I think I found what I needed.

Rather unusually for an ASW frigate, two screws.

YESSSS!! Thanks a bunch, that pic let me improved the hull below the waterline a lot.

The shape I had was quite wrong.

And she has blue anti-fouling... noted for when it comes time to texture...

If you got any more pics of her in drydock post them too.

Ah yes. I just discovered the cool images the offical MARCOM site has (including one of the sonar dome.) Off to check the indivitual ship sites.
