Don't you just hate these competitions that are open to school kids or uni students?
This is the kind of stuff I missed out on as a kid as THEY DIDN'T do the competitions or my school was too duff to get the info or inform us. So I was thinking. How about we have our own design competition on subsim.com I know we can't enter the official competition but we could send something anyway. It would also be fun. Neal do you think it would be a good idea to have a subsim competition and whoever wins, we be cheeky and send the RN our design? |

I'm always reminded of those overblown starships designed by Star Trek fanboys (20 miles long! 500 quantum torpedo launchers!) so I figured I'd throw my two cents in.

(for sneaking into enemy harbours) Armament: Six electromagnetic Shkval torpedo launchers, 10 150 mm plasma rail guns, 8 laser-directed anti-missile machine guns, 128 SAMRAAM surface-to-air missiles, 24 stealthy anti-ship missiles with nuclear warheads Propulsion: Environmentally-friendly magnetohydrodynamic drive with silent diesal afterburners. Six aquapump jets for added maneuverability. Top speed: 46 knots Crew: 95 men and 45 women Estimated Cost: 95 million pounds |
