Default Menu Id not found: 0x1a000008

Searching the Net I've seen more two times the reference to this error.

I've a fresh SH III well patched and I can't even access the menu once I receive the message in subject.

I've tried to install RealUboat 1.45 and the result is the same.

Certainly the problem is with something common between the two programs.

Someone can help?

Thx

I think you will find the error is in menu_1024_768.ini, a refereced item within does not exist, this file may have been moddified and has an internal error or an external part is not there, usually caused by mods overlapping mods. I would recommend any modding be done via jsgme mod enabler and if a mod is going to overwrite a previos mod (put in by jsgme) it will let you know first before enabling it!

Thx Reece, but I always use JSGME and the error persists.

Well 99% it's Menu_1024_768.ini, the file has been altered for a mod of some sort, do a windows search of the mods folder for that file, then remove the mod (JSGME), test the game! Or copy the file to a temp folder and get a hold of an original file, put that in & run again!

I found the instruction in the menu_1024_768... but it'was the menu before the update.

[G1A I2]
Type=1035;Edit box
ItemID=0x1A000008
ParentID=0x1A000000
Pos=406,627,250,35
Color=0xFFFFFFFF
Materials=4
Display=4;All directions
Mat 0=DATA/Menu/Data/Back_1.tga
Mat 1=DATA/Menu/Data/Back_1.tga
Mat 2=DATA/Menu/Data/Back_1.tga
Mat 3=DATA/Menu/Data/Back_1.tga
MatFlags=0x1
TexFmt=0xB
Font=0
Text=0
TextFlags=0x5
StatesColors=0xCDBEB4FF, 0xCDBEB4FF, 0xCDBEB4FF, 0xCDBEB4FF
TextMaxLen=10

after update the new menu_1024_768 is like this:

[G1A I2]
Name=Edit grp
Type=1026;Menu group
ItemID=0x1A020000
ParentID=0x1A000000
Pos=397,497,438,349
Color=0xFFFFFFFF

and no trace of ...1a000008...

How SH search an instruciton in the ini file?
