How hard would it be to clone and resize a sub?

3d modeling, is sort of out of my leauge, but i thought id ask this anyway, im not even sure if its possible.

But lets say you want to create a new playable sub. Any sub, doesnt matter really. But for example lets say you wanted a VIIF. A torpedo supply boat. Its dimensions are different then a standard VIIC, although im sure its silloute is similar.

Now i know you have to clone ships in order to get them to work and give them a new ID number (i think

), but how would you resize it? I thought i saw a post of someone who had accomlished this a long time ago.

If both of these are possible, can anyone point me to a "for dummies" styled guide?
