What a great sim! Ive never had a problem EXCEPT one.
Any time I try to spend time (5min - 15 mins.) on the deck during a storm the game crashes my computer. The sound loops on the last sound. Screen goes black and the monitors goes into what seems like standdown mode. I have to turn computer off... then restart. Ive turned down the sound acceleration... changed video drivers........changed video settings all to no effect. running a 3.2intel, 6800gt, audigy2. been checking old post to find the problem. Anyone.." been there done that".... any ideas????

Hmm, just wondering if your VC is overheating, see in a storm you get lots of wave action, rain an so on. If you have another high end game, run it at full high settings and see if it shuts down as well. If not then I'd look at your Dx and maybe reinstall it.
Sorry but thats the best that comes to mind atm. ![]() |

thats what I thought VC over heating. I monitor it and it seems ok. I run IL-2 alot and never had a problem.
I do have DirectX 8 sdk on my computer ------- EDIT___________________ I may have found a solution. I changed the refresh rate to 75 hertx , from 85, and lowered the image setting from quality to high performance. stayed on deck duing a storm for over 30 min. 75 hertz was too hard on the eyes so I went back to 85. Left the high performance setting coz I didnt really notice a difference in the image quality SO good so far. |

hey the_doc
"I had the same problem, fixed it by updating my sound driver. Hasn't crashed since." what card and driver you got? i just upgraded my audigy 2 value driver to the new creative driver and thats when this problem started, It did this before just very seldom. Theres so much Creative software with their sound card its hard to tell what influences what. |
