Will enemy incoming torpedos break-up if you head straight at one and get hit by it before it has a chance to arm/lock itself?
Also, has anyone been able to get an enemy incoming torpedo to destroy the platform that launched it? |

Someones stuck on reliving Hunt for Red October...
![]() No, in the game the torp is armed as soon as its senors are active and it begins to search. If its sensors are not active it will not home into a target and till not hit anything. |

IIRC in DW "unarmed" torpedos (which means just preenabled) just run right through any targets they meet, so they don't destruct on collision, the only collisions detected by preenabled torps seems to be collisions with the bottom...

One of the great tactics in Sub Command's mission where you attack a Russian Battle Group is to stay under the layer until they are right above you in which you come to say...50 ft. Then, everything will launch torps at you and you go under the carrier. The torps will kill the carrier and you complete the mission w/o expending any weapons.
