Default Promoted and Knights Cross (why ?)

Last patrol in AN 13, very uneventfull, all i had to show was a lousy 2000 ton, tramp steamer. Well along comes a medium freighter (6000 t) so I get 2 fish in to her and in about an hour she sinks. Well I get back to base to find a promotion to Karleaun (sp) and the knights cross with swords and oakleaves.

How'd I earn that ? :rotfl:

I believe when you cross a certain renown/tonage threshold you get rewarded.

I try to think of it as being promoted for a career-long performance, not just for the last patrol.

And there is some historical accuracy in this, as Kaleun's were sometimes awarded medals from previous action while in mid-patrol. (Or at least they were notified of the pending award.)

Awards mean nothing to sinking the enemy ships and surviving for another patrol.
