Default Movie "Enemy Below"

Hi. is there anyway I can get the sound track where the german U-boot crew sang the song "Me my friend, you my friend" or whatever it was called. I could like that for my gramophone.

Hmmm.... the movie has been released on DVD (and VHS), but other than that I don't know. I doubt if a separate soundtrack has been released.

Default Der Alte Dessauer

I've a copy but it's a bit big to post. Look around on the net for this old drinking song: "Der Alte Dessauer"

Der Sieg war errungen, Viktoria Schoß
Man flott aus Kartaunen, Kanonen;
Der Dessauer spornte sein stattliches Roß,
Besichtigt Kommunikationen.
Trotz Kontreskarpe, Ravelin, Batterie,
Bewährte sich wieder sein Ferdherrngenie;
An Parallelen verschüttet hält er,
Da kommen drei Senatores daher,
Mit zwölf Musikanten, erst langsam, dann Trott,
Waldhörner, Trompeten, Klarino, Fagott.

I think you mean good movie, terrible u-boat interior. Still ten times better than U-571.

That's the problem with the young folks now-a-days, if it doesn't contain blood and gore or T&A they get bored and miss what the movie is all about. It may be a cliche' in our "modern" times but at one time movies were made with the intent of depicting the morality of a situation.
As for me, I thought that the movie was real good. (or am I just showing my age :hmm: )

I thought it was a good movie as well, that is why I bought it and watch it again and again and I'm not showing my age, it was a good plot showed the dedication of a German U-boat commander and the compassion of the American DD commander. We here in North American seem to be a passionate people, not saying that other countries are not the same, just pointing out a point of the film. Robert. :hmm:

If you're showing your age you're showing mine as well, and I'm only 34. I think it's a great movie; bought the DVD and have watched it many times. I don't always want the in-your-face grit of Das Boot; plus I like that TEB shows you the point of view from the destroyer as well. I can look past the erroneous details; guess it's easier to do that if you like the story.

I'm 38 and think Enemy Below is among the worst movies I've seen. It's cool others like it, but I sure don't

You should watch more Hollywood movies. After a couple, you wont be wondering anymore. :rotfl:

I'm sure. In Enemy Below, at the end, the American frigate or DE gets torpedoed by the u-boat. Most of the crew abandons ship, but the Captain and a few others stay on. The ship is buring, and of course the u-boat surfaces 200 meters away to use the deck gun. The ship and u-boat start shooting at each other, then the ship rams the u-boat, coming to rest on top of the u-boat, which stays afloat with the destroyer on top of it, high and dry. Everbody abandons ship, and Americans and Germans end up in the same lifeboat, and watch their vessels finally explode.

Is that the one?
