Starting a career: You prefer early or later in the war?

I just tried to restart a career in october of 1939 in an IXB, and ..well.. the wind has just left my sails. Im not very far into my first patrol and im already bored. Soo.. i thought for tickles and grins i thoguht id post a poll..

Personnaly i like starting late war, early war just isnt challenging to me. Survival early war doesnt seem liike an issue to me, its all about tonnage. Not only that but you don't have as many cool toys to play with. Granted you can edit your basic.cfg and get those toys that early in the war, but what fun would that be?
