Default Unified Campaing and GW patch 1.1

I have looked and can't find this answer. Can one use Rubini's Unified Campaign for GreyWolf with the GW 1.1 patch?
The patch changes the same files as Rubini's mod.

Default Same question!

I have the same question! I have the new patch but want to use the unified campaign. Can I now add this on as it will change files? Will this mess something up with the new patch?

I am running these mods with no problems loaded in the following order and via SH3 Commander:
Grey Wolves v1
Grey Wolves Update
Tonnage War Mod v1.03
Extended Unified Campaign
I removed all mods leaving just Grey Wolves v1.
Then reinstalled each mod again with the GW update taking No 2 slot

Yes it is good to know that they can run. My real question is: does the unified campaign mod for GrewWolves screw up the changes that were made in the files by the update? If so, how? Both addons involve the same files.

*this is a copy of a response I gave in another thread about the same thing*

I examined the (campaign) files and it seems that the ones from Unified Campaign GW are older then the GW 1.1 update. I also tried to examine the differences inside using software that compares text files. The differences and re-arrangements are so many, thet the files cannot be compared.

However both seem recent, both have Rubini's latest work e.g Operation Cerberus.

To be on the safe side, I use the Unified Campaign (on top of GW 1.1), since it has both scripted and random layer, plus messages.

I am afraid that only Kpt. Lehmann can provide a definite answer for that (or whoever did the final compilation). But Kptn is on shore leave for a while.

Yes, that was my original thread/question several weeks ago. I finally decided just used the newer files in the patch.

Where has Kpt. Lehmann been? Seems like he hasn't posted in a long while.

He's been ill and recovering at the moment, regreatably, both him and rubini are out of the modding business for a while, and they are the better prepared to give an aswer to that question, to be honest, I've been programming some tools and I haven't got time even to try the 1,1 update, so I don't know on which file the Kpt. based the upgrade, but if your computer can handle the traffic on ports, I'll recomend to stick with rubini's version of UC, for what I've understand the Kpt. removes some traffic and some mines from the campaign to make it more "low end computer" friendly, hope this helps.

I'm not dead just yet :|\

... just ill and working my real-life job too much so my involvement here will be limited for a little while.

We still have big plans for the next evolution of GW... LOL and probably not what you are all thinking.

Thanks Ref, you, vonHelsching, Syxx-Killer, Gouldjg, and Cdre Gibs have been wonderful helping GW users with much needed answers to questions. I can't tell you how much the help means to me.

To all, towards the final days that Rubini was available for modding he produced several works that employed the GW campaign files from GW version 1.0.

I love Rubini's work and consider him a personal friend. However, in the process of supporting GW stand-alone users and building the GW v1.1 update, I've been unable to take a good look at his campaign variants. For these same reasons, I can only fully support the GW mod itself. I wish there was more of me to go around... but there isn't.

That being said, somewhere there is a thread relating to his campaign variant releases that contains many answers to commonly asked questions.

If someone has time to find it and bump it I will log the topic ID# and be able to refer prospective users to it.
