I am running the NYGM mod as well as SH3 Commander. I pulled into St. Nazaire in September 1941 with my type VII and decided to switch to 2nd Flotilla and grab a type IX to go check out the North American coast. I switched to 2nd Flotilla and got into a type IXC and upgraded it to where I needed it to me. NYGM advanced the date instead of spending renown, so as a result it took me from September 1941 to February 1942.
So I set sail to patrol the waters off the Carolinas in February. The loading screen shows me info from January 1942 for some reason. Then, when I get into the game I find my starboard diesel is destroyed (though at flank I still make 20 kts). And I also see that it's October 1941. My question is twofold. First, why is my engine being destroyed? No, I'm not imbedded in a wall or anything, I'm sitting in open water when the mission starts. And second, how can I get the dates to sync up so that it's February 1942? I'd hate to make the trip to North Carolina only to find out the U.S. isn't in the war yet! By the way, I do not have SH3 Commander set to bother with my dates at all (both date options are unchecked). I thought everything would be cool, but apparently it's not. |

Basically, it's a stock SH3 bug. I actually remember taking a career, copying it and running the *same* tests on both careers. Despite both careers being *exactly* the same, the patrol start date ended up different! Anyway, I'll defer to Observer if he is aware of any issues with NYGM. |

Thanks for the quick reply. I apologize; I did try to search for the date problem but nothing came up in my search.
Thanks for helping me understand what's happening, but is there a way to fix it? Even if I manually have to edit some files? Or am I just stuck always having my dates never match? |

I have recently noticed the problem with the stbd diesel being destroyed. I think it may have been a problem with the Hollywood damage mod included in NYGM TW v1.03. We've found a problem, and it may very well be related to this issue.
The "Upgrades" section on Page 14 of the NYGM TW user manual covers this problem. Simply, if you upgrade, then save and exit, you will see the disconnect you describe between dates. Without manual file editing, the easy way to correct this problem is to do all upgrades, then depart on patrol. |

Ok I am interested.
Why does Hollywood damage cause this?, Is this the Hollywood in its original format as made by me or a adjusted version of what had been tweaked by others? Also is this because of zone.cfg messing or is it because of a game bug when upgrading?.

That worked. I had made those changes, then got out to do some SH3 Commander work, then reloaded to start the patrol. But it's all better now. Thanks.
