Default U-boat War Ace 1.6 GW Compatible - MOD RELEASE

GW compatible Uboat War Ace 1.6

Moin moin Kaleuns,

This package is designed to allow players to run Uboat War Ace 1.6 and Grey Wolves together.

I have stripped Hansolo's mod down to the bare components that make it work. Essentially this mod will overwrite the GW campaign files plus add the necessary content for the new ones to work.
If you know what your doing feel free to remove any other files that you think need removing.

I have tried to leave as much of the GW content as untouched as possible.

In addition to the ships included in this mod I have included UBOAT234's Lusitania model (Integrated in campaign file too), and AG124's coastal tanker.

To intstall just enable with JSGME.

The content of this mod remains the work of Hansolo78, and the modders listed in the original readme.

Gute Jagd!

Boris

Awesome idea - thanks for doing this - I've just been downloading the latest U-boat War Ace mod and sergbuto's mods to fire up an alternative installation , but I hated to give up my Grey Wolves install to do it.

D/L'ing this one now - just a couple of questions:

1. Was this one done based on GW 1.0 or 1.1? I'm still running GW 1.0, and don't want to screw it up if this one only works with GW 1.1

2. This refers to UWA version 1.6, but the latest UWA file I downloaded from the link on sergbuto's site appeared to be labeled version 2.7 - is there a reason for using what seems like an "old" version of UWA for this GW-compatible version?

This mod incorporates none of the grey wolves files and should install over 1.0 or 1.1.

UWA 1.6 is the latest release of this mod, it's still an active topic on the German Ubi forums. The original mod was from sergbuto and others, but hansolo78 continued to rework it. The thread has recently been updated on this forum too.

Well, I tried just putting this one on top of my GW 1.0 install, but got CTDs as I was starting my patrol when I did that

My GW install is pretty heavily modded at this point, so there's no telling what the problem might be. But I noticed that JSGME reported that this mod was changing/replacing quite a few files from the GW mod, despite the statement above that "This mod incorporates none of the grey wolves files...", so I'm not sure if it would be worth trying to strip out some of my other mods and putting this on top of an unmodded GW install.

Anybody else having CTD problems with this or know what the cause might be? Could maybe save me the effort of troubleshooting my mod setup.

This will probably only work if installed straight over gw with nothing else... all other mods have to go over the top.

What I meant was that none of the files in this mod come from the gw mod... but some will inevitably be overwritten.

I may have to try that - I checked my mod list and I'm running the UC for GW as well as some other stuff, so I guess I'm not surprised about the problems - maybe when I get some time this weekend I'll try backing everything else off and just trying this with plain GW for a while.

No wonder its crashing if you have UC on as well, two campaign files will not work at the same time.

It's one or the other.

well, I tried to just back off the UC and then reinstall this one, but I still get CTDs. Guess I'll have to roll everything back and start from scratch to see if I can figure out what's going wrong.

Alas ! the mod does not work.
Return desktop with message of error Sh3.exe in the start mission.
Only GW 1.0 + patch 1.1, no mods?

Doesnt work for me either, even with a fresh install of SH3 and GW 1.1 only installed. CTD as soon as it tries to load up, with sh3.exe error. If I back up to just GW 1.1, the game works fine. Roll up to your minimum version of WarAce 1.6 and CTD.
