Default IXC Problems!

Hi, during a patrol recently, I upgraded to a IXC, however, if I am submerged & the U-Boat encounters a waypoint the boat just goes around in circles, on the surface it's ok!
Also I just had radar installed & the damn thing keeps switching itself off!
Is there a Mod or a fix?
Thanks.

The circling problem occasionally affects all U-boats, and is a bug in the stock game. The easy solution is to set the rudder to zero manually, move a short distance, then click on the 'return to course' icon.
The radar problem also occasionally affects all U-boats, and is caused by heavy storms. At wind speeds greater than about 12 or 13, the radar will randomly switch itself off. This might be a design decision. As a different problem, don't forget that, when you reload after saving a patrol, the radar will always be switched on, whatever its previous state. When switched on, the radar attracts destroyers and aircraft.

The real problem with the Type IX-C, that I've never seen with the IX-B, is that occasionally you have trouble with the external torpedo reloads (screen flickering, torpedoes disappear). This is a well-known problem for the Type IX-D2, fixed by reducing the number of external torpedo reloads to six, but the IX-C U-boat only has six external torpedo reloads anyway. Incidentally, the 'fixed' Type IX-D2 also occasionally *still* shows the external reload screen flickering, very rarely.

The easy fix is to delete the waypoint your circling around, since your there

Thanks, obviously no real fix, in the future I'll give this boat a miss!

All it means is that your navigation waypoints are too close together.

It isn't a problem with the boats themselves.

Just adjust your waypoints and all will be well.

I'll give it a shot but they were about 20k to 100k apart, funny that it's ok on the surface! Wonder if it's the size (length) of the boat, and if the waypoint is measured from the center or front of the boat?
