Default Don't Panic

Ok i recieve a private message from a subsimmer asking me, how come i got his IP address and his other details "winxp and firefox" showing on my sig

Just in case i get a Hit contract put out on me, :P i wish to explain to those that dont know that the sig is just a joke. When i look at it all i see is MY PC details. When you view it your see your PC details (on my sig). But i "cannot" see them I dont know what your IP or what OS your running.

Stay cool :|\

There is also a similar gimmick where you appear to show someone the folders and files on their C: drive and tell them that you have full access and control to their PC.

I had a nasty one sent by a friend by email. It was a joke but it did fool me. I dont open attachments unless i know the person so opening this one was no problem. I opened it a installation window poped up then it states WindowsXP is now uninstalling and it shows the monitor gauge going down gets to zero then my screen goes black.... about 10sec later in big words was APRIL FOOL.

It's a bit smug as signatures go, hehe, but essentially harmless

Look, I do not want to offend anybody here, but I need to say that you are helping spammers to target us. I will not explain how things work; just research and you will probably find something about these systems.

Alternatively, follow the link below and read what that person says, if you trust a Linux power users that is

I was just referring to "Linux users" in that forum, not Linux Vs windows or anything else for that matter. However, maybe me too I am assuming too much about what you meant…

lol
I know when I first saw that sig on another fora displaying to the world (for all I knew then) my details and IP, I was brassed off! lol
Bit like when my grandad discovered "Brasseye" (brit spoof news program) was not a serious current affairs program- after he'd been watching it for almost a week! lmao
But hey, it made me laugh at the end hence the description 'smug'

Well, if the guy sent you a PM, he or she got concerned for sure.

I should create one showing more specs, for sure a persomn will freak out on how much one can amass by scanning his or her PC, if proper doors are open that is. However, to a certain degree, it is violating privacy! :|\
