Default Which Damage model do you use?

I have downloaded RuB 1.45z. Played a couple of missions to see how damage model worked.

I loved Hollywood Advanced damage mod, but found for early war, it was too easy to evade destroyers.

Played the stock RuB model with U-505, found it was too difficult. But one interesting thing happened: I can't seem to miss with the acoustic G7es..I fired it 6 times in single missions, and hit six escorts . I think it is too accurate.

I was thinking of tweaking the Hollywood Zones file and then using that for RuB 1.45 :hmm:

I think RuB is a little bit too easy. Tonnage war seems to maybe a little bit too hard - you have to be very lucky to get anything to sink without using more than 1 torpedo. Besides, I like Harbour traffic and because I can't dl UC NYGM from rapidshare, I decided to get myself back to RuB and HT. If UC will show up to Terrapins site, I'll give a next try for NYGM.

Does the Hollywood Damage Model effect AI Destroyer behavior?

How does Hollywood make it easier to get away from destoyers?

It was meant to slowly punish players instead of the quick deaths.

Ok in real life you had pressure breach and that was it but I tried to get a little more game play out of it before dying as well as compensate for the pin point DD in late war. The concequence meant it was a tad too strong for early war unless you were a noob player.

Looking back now, there should have been 2 versions i.e early war and late war but I am only human lol.

Anyway, I am currently setting up a new randomized version of Hollywood.

That is, I have already tested and set up the file that will randomize every health point, flooding etc etc in the game. Ships, Sub and plane will be included.

Each time you start game through sh3 commander, you will get a different set of values so will never really know what your sub etc is capable of.

One day you engines might be taken out by a single lucky BB shot. The next they will be like a rock. Same goes for planes etc.

I am just testing my personal version first then I will release the template file and instructions so everyone can set to their liking or have their major mod team set a balanced version that fits with their mod.

It will be not far now.

Just to add to gouldjg, the Hollywood / Diehard was also made to hide you the fact that you were already dead

But in *rare* cases you managed to get out alive.

When I first installed it, I found myself making noise to attract DDs to see what wil happen.

Holywood rocks

Hollywood is great for late war, for early war IMHO,it is too weak, not strong. In early war, in a VIIC, I can easily dive to 180m and just TC and escape...no problem. DCs explode harmlessly above me.

I guess what you did is tweak the DC damage files so they were less potent and had to explode closer to hull to cause damage. Thats realistic. In addition to changing the Zones file.

For my career in 1940, I am thinking of leaving stock RuB in, when 1943 rolls around, changing to Hollywood..
