manual targeting

Ive been playing the game for a while now but only with auto targeting ,so i decided to bite the bullet and go for a bit of realistic action

.
My question is this how long does it take to get reasonably profecient at manual targetting as it can be a tad frustrating at times

.
Could somebody tell me which keys are for in game chat on multiplayer.

Are there any noobish targeting manuals for the not so technical.
