Default Yellow Submarine and Operation Petticoat Mod Now Available !

It's not quite the historic event that the Grey Wolves release has been ( ), but since some of you seemed to like my Historic U-boat Aces Faces Mod from a few months ago, I thought I would make available my latest mod, a somewhat more lighthearted effort I just whipped up called the Yellow Submarine Mod

Here are some screen shots from the mod which will give you a good idea of what to expect:

Full Screen Shot at St. Nazaire:

Close-up showing the signature Blue Glove emblem:

Crew Management Screen:

I did this using the various submarine .dat files from my Grey Wolves install, so all credit for the sub skins (other than the bilious color I added) goes to the GW team - I hope they don't mind me having a little fun with them. I have tested this out a few times with my current GW install and it seems to work fine - I do not know for sure if it will work with any other game/mod combo installs, so I suggest you use it with JSGME (and back up your files) just in case.

This turned out to be quite a large file even compressed with 7zip, probably because it has all the sub types in it - if anybody wants this only for a particular sub type and has a problem with the file size I can probably split it into multiple mods for the individual sub types or at least classes (all type IXs in one mod/file for example).

You can download the mod file here:

http://rapidshare.de/files/16035834/...rcules.7z.html

Enjoy!

Ya know, I was showing this sim to ky kids the other day and it occurred to me that I had never seen a Yellow SUbmarine mod. Of course, now I have the Beatles tune stuck in my head.

The other one I would like to see is a pink submarine mod along the lines of the one from the Cary Grant movie (I think is was called Operation Petticoat). A great, fun movies that takes place on a sub, but isn't a 'submarine movie', if you see what I mean.

Crap! Time to go shopping for some mods and see if I can get the electrified hull too (maybe if I negatively charge my hull, I can push the depth charges further away).

Love the yellow submarine, too. Just throw that mp3 in your gramophone and go tooling out to sink ships.

Here's a link for Operation Petticoat: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053143/ and there's also a 1977 version as well with Jamie Lee Curtis so, uh, mod that in k?

Yet according to SH3's internal color codes, the German themselves are the Blue Meanies. :hmm:

Ok - by popular demand

Announcing the release of the new Operation Petticoat Type VIIB Mod by Panthercules

Here's a couple of screen shots of what you can look forward to:

Screen shot of sub in Port:

Crew management screen:

The mod can be downloaded here:

http://rapidshare.de/files/16111408/..._JSGME.7z.html

In the interest of time and file size, I only did this one for the type VIIB.

Enjoy!

That is so great. Thanks!

I will be using this off and on for a long time to come. You even put in the faces. Just fantastic!

To offer a quote from the movie:

"Under the age of 18, a woman is protected by the law. Over the age of 50, she is protected by nature. Anywhere in between, she is fair-game."
