You didn't check the Amazon listing to see what region it was?

They always say.

Hopefully I dont get into any troubles when I post this.

Try program called <Edit - Gizzmoe>. I think that it removes the region codes. Not sure tho.

Admins/Mods feel free to edit or delete this post if it´s against the rules.

They do make DVD players that ignore the region, but they're kind of expensive.

I don't know the answer.

I had the same problem with regional codes; I live near a store that has a lot of very good imported DVDs but they are all regionally coded. Then I found the website: ttp://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks. This is NOT a pirating site; it has postings that desribe problems and solutions for various DVD software and hardware and among the many services it provides is the ability to locate postings by brand & model of DVD player. Almost all DVD players can be reprogrammed to be region-free; I found my player on this site and I am now enjoying region-free viewing. I hope this helps you. Good Hunting and Safe Voyage Home.

Maybe just ring up some of your towns video stores and bargain with them, rental video stores always have Das Boot and other classics and are more than willing to sell them for a price, this is how i got my Das Boot The Directer's cut, paid $40 for it though. But it was worth it.

Check out the site I pm'd you or the one vienna posted a link to. Between the 2 sites I've changed both of my region 2 DVD players into Multi-region ones. Its a major rip-off that manufacturers tells us we have to buy more expensive Multi-region players when in fact virtually all players can be switched to multi by simply typeing in a code via the remote. As has been said this is NOT a hack. The regional setting is set at the factory and can be changed if you know the code.
