Thanks to TT's Mini Tweak Utility...
![]() I have tried to make them as 'frame-rate-friendly' as possible... but, there will be a slight drop in fps (depending how close you get to the effect in free-cam)... If anyone is interested, I can post the Mini Tweak settings and you can put them in yourself... but, I can't distribute my particles.dat file because it is heavily modded with other stuff that would screw-up your file... Big Oil Slick appears when Steamers flood-out and sink in one piece... Big Oil Fire appears when Tankers explode and sink (different size fires)... sometimes, Big Oil Fire appears when non-Tankers explode and sink too... Big Oil Slick and Big Oil Fire will probably not appear if Ammo Steamer or Freight Steamer has catastrophic explosion, breaks in two pieces and sinks fast... Also, on clear sunny day, Big Oil Slick is Deep Purple ("smoke on the water, fire in the sky...." ![]() Check out screenshots: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These effects generate fast and will last at least 30 - 40 min real time... then they gradually fade-out... and, life span can be increased even more... ![]() I wish TT would add just a FEW more files to the Mini Tweak library... cause I would like to increase life span of floating cargo boxes, life rafts, life boats and those little-guys-that-go-flying-through-the-air in the Hollywood Damage mod... By the way, Big Oil Fire uses different graphic image than the Ship Fire graphic... it is more of a 'popcorn' graphic... more difficult to make it look realistic when expanding the image... Ok... I finally figured out a way to post screenshots of my Mini Tweak settings... so, I'll get those up tomorrow... I'll try to make them expand big from the thumbnails so they are readable...
Like I said, there will be a hit on fps using these effects.. more for some, less for others... I tried to minimize the fps degradation without compromising the visual effect too much... but, the more stuff being rendered on the screen, well, you know... I'm no expert, just a garage mechanic... I haven't the faintest clue what the User Manual says about the Tweaker Settings... your guess is as good as mine...I just made them up for my own enjoyment and they probably can be improved upon... so, community feedback and improvements are expected on this eye candy... Also, I have some more Tweaker settings for debris explosion (bigger water splash when the crates pop up).... oil trace (bigger oil leaks from damaged sub).... and, of course, enhanced depth charge explosion (thanks to Redwine)...
