Default Sh3 CMDR ? problem

I did a fresh install of SHIII,1.4b. When I used SH3CMDR after the first patrol, i can no longer use most of the missions.
It works fine for the career, but when I try to go to the naval Acadamy or use a single mission, I get a screen that states
"Too many sailors; go to the barricks".
Of course, I can't.
Is there any way to change the crew configeration files so I can use the single missions?

Isn't this related to the NYGM Crew Management Mod? I'm sure I've read something by Observer addressing it. Try searching the archives.

I found this... http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopi...hlight=#454368 but can't remember if it was the post I was thinking of.

Anyway, you can use custom crew configs in SH3Cmdr - check the help file for instructions. Or you can simply select the "Standard SH3" crew model when starting a mission via SH3Cmdr which uses whatever crew files are already in the game. Of course, if it is an installed mod that's causing your problem, this will very quickly identify it!

Default Problem with crew

I installed the NYGM tonnage mod over a fresh install of SHIII, 1.4b, and used SH3 CMDR. I got the extra people as noted in the reference. I dismised them and everything worked fine for my career.

However my frame rate dropped to 1 and I had to uninstall the NYGM mod and the NYGM add on mod.

After the uninstall, I get the "Too many sailors, go to barricks" message with no other mods installed. Apparently the mod changed my config file for the boats so that the number of crew members is too many for the boats. It doesn't matter if I use the SHIII or the realistic crew option in CMDR; I still get the same message.

I used the JSGME to install and remove the mods.

When I load my career, I get the too many sailers and have to dismiss several.

I guess this is not a SH3 CMDR problem, but a JSGME problem. Unless I can edit just the u boat files, I guess I will have to do a fresh install.

Incidently I installed just the NYGM terrain add on and the Kiel Canal worked perfectly.

I would like to use the NYGM tonnage mod, but the frame rate hit is too much. I tried installing the 8 Km atmospheric mod on top of it, but it didn't help the frame rate

Can't imagine it being a JSGME prob either - what version are you using?

Perhaps you didn't rollback SH3Cmdr when you either installed or uninstalled the NYGM mod via JSGME? That will give you problems.

Default mod

I used the latest JSGME (2.4.1.70). I think I rolled it back, but I might not have. Anyway, I deleted the data folder from SHIII and copied a new, unmodified data file back into the folder.
I still get too many sailors. I guess I will have to do a complete uninstall, clean my regestry and start over.
Does the NYGM tonnage mod alter any files outside of the data folder?
