Good Morning Fellow Skippers,
I purchased SH3 from Ubisoft and downloaded the software. Being the adventurous type I had my SH3 pretty messed up tweaking and trying different mods. Now that I’ve been reading the forums and getting a lot of knowledge, I completely uninstalled SH3 and cleaned up my system. Re-install went great, Grey Wolves on all with no problem. But what I did see has me both concerned and smoked. When I put the activation key in that Ubisoft provided me, it said I have 0 activations left. What the heck is this? I’m a network admin and know how easy it is for things to get messed up on a system. I fully expect that I will screw SH3 up somewhere down the line. Do any of you have any experience with this? I’d hate to think that at 2300 some night I have to re-install something I purchased and want to play and cant! I know about piracy and companies wanting to protect their products but this is something else. Now on patrol I worry more about SH3 going belly up than the destroyers… ![]() Jim |

This happened to me when I downloaded Brothers in Arms (also Ubisoft) and then tried to reinstall it later. Just email them and explain the situation and they will send you a new activation code. At least that's how it worked for me.

IIRC - you have a limited activation count when using a downloaded copy. I think the there is an unlimited activation key supplied by ubi in their forums for people who downloaded the game.
I think it's ok to post this reply.

I'm not big fan of direct to drive type game downloads. Give me a disc anyday. The disc is less confusing and less of a headache. Hopefully the CD will still be purchaseable and the downloading games will just stay an option.
