Default OT: Naval Historical photos - Battleship Cove Gallery added

Update to my Naval Historical Sites Photo Galleries at PBase:

Battleship Cove Gallery, featuring the USS Massachusetts (BB-59), USS Joseph P. Kennedy (DD-850), USS Lionfish (SS-298), and Hiddensee. Most of the photos are of the Lionfish and the Hiddensee; I hope to have more photos of the Massachusetts and Kennedy coming this spring.

This site is located in Fall River, MA, USA (about 1 hour's drive south of Boston, MA and 20-30 minutes' drive southeast of Providence, RI), in case you're thinking of taking a trip. And if you ever come up that way, drop me a line; I live within a reasonable drive and can meet there for a day of naval history (and chowda!).

I was there in August, on a weekday afternoon... not too crowded

Maybe this spring or summer we can get a group together down there.

It'd be quite a thing to maybe organize a New England Naval Heritage road trip... Groton, Providence, Fall River, Boston... maybe even Portsmouth...

One of these days, I'll post my Albacore pics as well (i want to re-shoot some of them first...)

Maybe someday soon we'll also get to tour the Saratoga if they ever get that floating museum thing going.

Wow the Hiddensee was cool. I've never seen the inside of a Russian built surface ship before (at least not in any detail). If whatever SCS plans for the OPFOR addon looks half that good we're in for a treat!
