Default Sonar problem.

Ok anyone else have this problem, and a fix ? Sometimes when on patrol I will man the sonar room to do a manual sweep while submerged, some of these times the sonar bearing needle is pointed up at 000 deg and I can not get it to move. Not by dragging on it and not by using the wheel.

Yes I have 2 sonar petty officers manning the station.

Try some WD40 on the wheel. All that salt air makes the bearings get a little rusty.

The sonar bearing indicator is something that Captain America is working on correcting in his upcoming patch/mod... along with a lot of other annoying imperfections in the U-boat interior gauges.

Here is the link to that thread in the mods workshop.

I haven't had that problem with the hydrophone, but I have noticed sometimes that the sonarman will report a contact and when I tell him to follow said contact, he tells me - "no sound contact". What Gives? Also, I have manned the hydrophone myself and I can hear a contact but there is no way to assign it to the sonar guy or post it on the map. I basically have to drive toward the sound as I hear it. Is this normal, or is there a fix for it?

Is this supposed to be part of greywolves? What is Grey Wolves, and when is it due out.

Sometimes I get that and I'll have a listen for myself. The sound is usually very faint.

I think what's happening is the soundman picks up a 'trace', a bit of sound a long way off. When you ask him to track it it's no longer there. The only way to get it back is to follow it at high speed and hope you outrun him. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
