Default SH3 using Nvidia SLI?

All,
Is anyone running SH3 using SLI? I can see no difference in frame rates using one or both 7800GTXs in any of the SLI modes. Any ideas?

Im not 100% sure but here is what I think the case is...

I believe that for there to be any difference the game code has to be written to take advantage of SLI mode.Otherwise you will see no difference.

The game taxes your CPU far more than your GPU.

However, you should notice a huge boost in framerates while sitting in the pen. The pen is the toughest graphical spot in the whole game.

Too bad the game can't use dual processor machines.

Do not confuse Dual CPU processors with SLI/Crossfire. Games have to be written to take advantage of the dual processor, but not SLI/Crossfire. An example is when AA first came out years ago, the games did not have to be "written" to use AA because it is just the way the graphics are rendered and SLI/Crossfire is the same way.

If you read some of the video card tests, you will see that the FPS increase with nVida's SLI or ATI's Crossfire. All the video card does is split the rendering load between two GPU's versus one GPU. In fact there are several different ways of doing this and each company has it's own methods with the appropriate pro's and con's of each method.

I am running on two 6800GT Sli with a 4800X2 processor

SLi gives me a little boost of 15%

so on this game , the benefit isn t really good.

Kriechbaum,
I'm running two 7800GTXs with an Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (non-OC'd) and see even less of an increase than that...maybe 3 or 4 FPS increase in extra-heavy populated harbors. Coming out of the the pens I get around 30 FPS using IUB w/the heavy harbor traffic option. At sea, the numbers are over 100 FPS so it really matter.
