Hello everyone,
First post ![]() Anyway, my problem is that when I start the video Tutorials, a windows error report pops up and says that the game will be shut down. I can't remember the specific detail of the error since I'm at work right now, but I think it said something about .dll files missing or something. After having intermintent sound problems, I also got a new copy of the game and I still have the same problem with the crashing. Anybody else have this happen. Is it something with windows media? By the way, I did install the media files just in case you're wondering. And I have also installed the proper patches (1.4b DVD) Thanks for any help you can give. Fredbass |

Try reinstalling the game again may help.

Go to Dxdiag (Start>>> Run>>> Dxdiag), select the Sound tab and turn acceleration down to 0.
This should solve your crashes. JCC Oh... and welcome to Subsim.com! |

They all are stored in your \SilentHunterIII\data\NavalAcademy\ folder, so you can watch all of them if you like, not even running the game.
Your problem is caused most probably because game tries to run an external video player, which can easily create a whole lot of problems ![]() |

Yea, I never could get the crash problem resolved.
It's not a major problem cause it only seems to happen when playing the tutorial which as you've pointed out can be played separately anyways. Oh well. But so far, the static noise issue has seemed to have disappeared since I lowered the directx sound acceleration to none. |
