Improved U-boat (IUB) is a compilation of certain very nice graphics, sound mods and RuB altogether. Everything you need, you will found using these terms: 1. Crawling through this forum - lot of mods... 2. Try to find it on Terrapin's site - http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ Good hunting! |

One point of note though - I found that sometimes the realsimulation ftp server will drop the connection, but persevere - its worth it!

What´s the real difference with RuB and IuB? I use RuB, the only thing I miss is proper harbour traffic and maybe nicer graphics. Should I go for IuB? And should I remove RuB in that case?

If you want the extra traffic, just install the SCR file from HT. It's the one that actually adds the extra ships, and doesn't really affect anything else.

I am afraid I don´t fully understand what you mean with the "SCR file from th HT"...
![]() I would be thankful if you could explain this a bit further because it would make mission beginnings much more interesting when you have to make your way out of a port crowded with other ships... ![]() In fact, I made a stealth mission to Lowestofte recently just to find out that the whole port was empty... ![]()

In the Ubisoft/SHIII/Data/Campaigns folder there are three campaign files.
The RND file controls the convoys and random shipping in the game. That one was heavily changed for the RUB and NYGM mods. The LND file controls all land objects, and is also upgraded if you use either one of those mods. The SCR file controls all scripted units, that is the ones that appear in the same place every time. RUB has many less ships in the harbor than the Harbor Traffic Mod. Simply download HT but when you open it put the files in a temporary folder. You can name it anything you like but make sure it's not in the SHIII folder. Then look at the different files and take the one labelled SCR and move it to the Campaigns folder in SHIII. Be sure you are in port and between patrols when you do this. The next time you set sail you will see a wonderful world full of ships and planes. |
