Editing CFG files.

hi all. I was looking through some posts recently and i discovered that you can edit the amount of renown you can earn by opening up the basic cfg file and changing some numbers. My question is how do you open up the cfg files? im not exactly computer literate so is there any programmes i should get to help me do this, or can someone offer me some advice please?

you can use notepad to open the .cfg files - either right click on the file and "send to" notepad (if you have your "send to" list set up to do that), or open up notepad and then use the "open file" function inside notepad to browse over to the .cfg file you want to edit and open it up.

Probably a good idea to backup a copy of the .cfg file before you start messing with it, just in case.

Show extra credits
Locate the .cfg file in your \sh3\data\cfg\careers\yourcarreer directory. Select name of the folder that is the same as the career you are using.

Make a backup copy of this.

Open the .cfg in a text editor.

Scroll down to your last mission details.

Change the amount of reowns you got paid.

Save the modifications.

Start a game.
